So don't be afraid you are more valuable to God.' 'And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. Whatever it is, no matter how small it may seem to you or others, I believe God cares about it because he cares about you. It could be as simple as wishing you could afford a new piece of clothing or receiving a 'thank you' for all you do. Perhaps it's feeling lonely after moving to a new area without knowing anyone, or maybe you've been wrongly accused and friends have abandoned you. I believe most of us go through periods of time like this, leaving us feeling a little down and sad. My response to the love God has shown me is in the little things, and I hope I never forget that.Do you ever feel insignificant? Misunderstood, ignored and even, at times, invisible? One pinch of empathy today, a sprinkle of kindness tomorrow, a lending hand today, a moment of worship, taking care of me, a note to a friend. Therefore I’ve concluded that my response to God’s love is shown in the little things I do for myself, for him, and others around me.

They store more memories than grander things. The most beautiful things with your lover are very intimate, a kiss, a peck, a hug, and a small cuddle. The best things are in small bits and pieces. If what I’m doing is motivated by how people should see me as the best and perfect Christian and not what I do as a response to who loves me. While the grand gestures are very significant, what quality is it? What is my motive behind professing my love for God in a certain way? If the way I say I love God is because of what other people are saying and not something I’ve been able to figure out by myself. I’ve been thinking about my response to this love.

In another verse, he will remind us that people are turned away because I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked, and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison, and you did not visit me. I like that Jesus takes a lot of effort to remind us of finding God’s love in the little things - “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field and how they grow: they neither toil nor spin”- nothing gets more little than that. What does it mean to love God in the way he wants it? Our romantic relationships often appreciate grand gestures, and although I cannot think of anybody that rejects grand gestures (except, of course, those people who propose at the mall and get rejected), I think people say “it’s the little things” to show that it doesn’t have to be grand for you to express the love you have for someone. I’ve been thinking of how the response to God’s love should be.
